The CES 2010 has revealed that the first title to get a 3D Blu-ray outing will be Monsters vs Aliens. And to make the news even more interesting, it has been announced that this is to be a UK exclusive. The UK to get the world's first anything is a shock but the first 3D Blu-ray is something to get very excited about indeed. Okay so it may only be Monsters vs Aliens but beggars can't be choosers and all that.
The release will only come bundled with new Samsung 3D products however which will give you a nice head start in the 3D world. As an exclusive to the manufacturers, Monsters vs Aliens 3D will come as standard when any 3D Samsung TV's or players are purchased. Samsung announced last week at their own convention that the U7000 televisions and their 3D Blu-ray player, the BDP6900 would be available from March.
On Samsung's 3D plans, Michael Zoller a company rep said, "3D is not a niche or novelty product for Samsung, that is why we have 20 3D TVs at launch and why we are first to market." This will come as a shock to those who assumed that Avatar would be the first 3D Blu-ray release, but with it unlikely to be ready for the start of the 3D boom, Dreamworks have snuck in through the back door.
