One week on from the previous New in Blu and Ben Stokes is still wailing Michael Jackson songs in our ear holes. We actually had to go around to his house and pry open hid BD player to get the disc out and then hide it somewhere super secret (the dump). Now that that is over, we can get on with talking about real films, so this is it (doh!), this weeks New in Blu:

Fantastic Mr. Fox
(20th Century Fox | 2009 | 87 mins | Rated PG)
Cult director Wes Anderson (The Royal Tenenbaums, Rushmore) turns to animation for the first time to bring Roald Dahl's Fantastic Mr. Fox to life. George Clooney, Meryl Streep and Bill Murray lend their voices to the handmade stop motion animated characters to recreate the children's story in a classic way, earning it an Oscar nomination in the process. Mr Fox loves to eat chickens. Unfortunately, three horrible farmers love their chickens. They decide to surround Fox's den and get their revenge. He isn't called Fantastic Mr. Fox for no reason though. He must use all of his cunning to get rid of the farmers and keep him and his family safe. Solid family fun from a competent film maker.

Jacob's Ladder
(Optimum Home Entertainment | 1990 | 113 mins | Rated 15)
1990 horror classic Jacob's Ladder comes to Blu-ray to inflict its pure craziness onto HD. Tim Robbins plays a Vietnam veteran who's struggling to fit back into reality. This isn't helped by the strange horrific visions he keeps having. Nothing is what it seems after a government experiment goes wrong. It may not be a massive film, but it certainly has been an inspiration to many, and well worth adding to your BD collection. Silent Hill fans will instantly be familiar with this one.

Triangle
(Icon Home Entertainment | 2009 | 99 mins | Rated 15)
The Bermuda Triangle doesn't only sink ships and cause planes to crash. Nope, not if you ask Melissa George. The last place you'd want to go when sailing a yacht is the deadly triangle, but not if you're a group of teens in a horror flick. When Jess and her friends set sail in the Bermuda Triangle and encounter a storm, they jump at the chance to seek safety on a passing ocean liner. A deserted ocean liner. An ocean liner with a killer maniac on the loose I should say. It's entertaining slasher fun.
